A Theory on How Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Will Play Out

What this “fight” means for their careers, their reputations, and most of all, their bank accounts.

As the dust settles on Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather’s four-day press-tourextravaganza to hype up their August 26 fight, the time has come to try to make sense of this entire thing. Despite their best attempts at persuading the world that they truly despise each other by calling each other a “bitch” (among other salient things) over and over again, this fight isn’t happening in order to settle some long-running blood feud. No, this fight is happening for one very simple and obvious reason: money.

You might be thinking, Of course this fight is only happening because of the money. Between the two of them, McGregor and Mayweather are estimated to make upwards of $500 million combined when it’s all said and done. McGregor himself was boasting about quadrupling his net worth in just one fight to start off their press conference in London. That was literally the first thing he said to the crowd! Win or lose—and all sensible logic dictates that he will lose—that means a lot more Gucci fookin’ minks for the notorious one. As for Mayweather? The man has a lifestyle brand called “The Money Team.”
